Extenua adds security and mobility software to AWS

Extenua Inc., a provider of enterprise security software, announced that its mobility and security software is now available on Amazon Web Services Inc.’s Marketplace.
“Cloud2Drive software allows users to use Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) to store all their unstructured data in one of today’s most secure schemas,” the company stated in a statement last Wednesday.
Extenua’s technology allows users to see and use their cloud like a regular hard drive. It even appears as an icon under Hard Disk Drives under Windows’ My Computer utility. This transparently manages the multi-cloud back-end infrastructure. The AWS Marketplace item states that you can simply login with Cloud2Drive agent software to mount your S3 storage as a network attached storage drive(s). All your existing desktop software works as if the storage were local. It prevents accidental overwriting files in multi-user scenarios and includes artificial intelligence-based caching technology that predicts which files will be needed.
“Cloud2Drive functions as a network drive using Extenua’s patent pending virtual clustered files system SAFE AI architecture,” said the company.
Cloud2Drive also provides secure access to the Internet. This means enterprises don’t need to resort to cumbersome VPN software or VPN server management. The company uses patent-pending security algorithms that meet or exceed most compliance regulations like HIPAA and PCI DSS.
Federico Simonetti (CTO, Extenua) said that Cloud2Drive was launched in AWS Marketplace and provides on-premises access to Amazon S3 as well as Cloud2Drive. “We are happy to launch Cloud2Drive in AWS Marketplace,” he said. “We have unique technology that we are using to enable enterprise and SMB to take advantage of AWS Cloud storage’s flexibility and cost savings.”
The AWS Marketplace offers a starting price of $7.50 per user per monthly.
